UEFA decided to ban Turkish Süper Lig club Trabzonspor from qualifying for Champions League and Europa League next season after breaching the financial fair play (FFP).
In a statement, Trabzonspor failed to meet the conditions of a settlement agreement with UEFA since 2016.
UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) previously issued a warning to the club that they would face a banishment next season if they failed to meet their financial target.
However, Trabzonspor said it would appeal UEFA’s decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
It’s a blow for Trabzonspor as they are currently leading the league table, but tied with Başaksehir on a goal difference.
Turkish league wll resume next week to finish the remaining eight matches.
