Former Schalke footballer who died in 2016 in a car crash, is alive and well

One of the shocking news today as former Schalke right back, Hiannick Kamba who was pronounced dead in a car crash at his home country Congo back in 2016, has been found to be alive and well in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

The Congolese defender begin his career in 2003 as part of Schalke youth team and a team-mate of Manuel Neuer. He stayed at Schalke until 2007 and joined numerous lower league clubs for several years.

In 2016, when Kamba played with eighth-tier side VfB Huls, he was reportedly died tragically in an accident.

The death means his wife received a six-figure amont of money paid by insurance company.

But after Kamba was found out alive, German prosecutor Anette Milk says Kamba’s ex-wife now being investigated as insurance fraud.

Kamba ex-wife claims she was eligible the life insurance payment after the accident and presented documents to the insurance company to prove his death.

However, reports stating that the documents may have been forged.

“The accused is accused of fraud, but she denies the fact. The proceedings are still ongoing,” Milk told Bild.

“Kamba stated that his wife had left him during the night while on a trip to the city in Congo on January 2016 and took his papers, money and telephone.”

Realising the situation, Kamba, now 33, submitted an application to return to Germany in 2018 and has recently stayed in Gelsenkirchen, working as a chemical technician for an energy supply company.

Kamba was allowed to stay in Germany thanks to his youth team status at Schalke, as he was granted asylum and residency rights.

He will be a witness in the investigation of the case.
