Pogba determined to return ‘more hungry’ from injury

When the dust finally settles down on an earlier setting that had pictured, justifiably or otherwise, a restless World Cup star player more preoccupied with his hopeful exit to new glittering horizons beckoning to him on the continent rather than on justifying his high price tag, what is revealed now is a player anxious to be free from the shackles of injury and itching to get back on the pitch.

Paul Pogba’s stint on the sidelines has all but made him more determined to get back into the thick of action on the pitch after an insufferable long layoff for a foot injury, the Manchester United midfielder has said.

Having been restricted to only eight appearances so far this season due to new and recurring injuries, Pogba was primed and eager to return to action before professional football in the continent was suspended because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

“I’ve been frustrated, a long time ago. Now I’m almost there, so I’m just thinking about getting back and training fully with the team and everything,” the 27-year-old said in an official club podcast.

“You think bad, but I’ve never had something like this in my career, so I always take it in a good way. It makes me more hungry to come back and do well.”

The France international suffered a foot injury in August that he further aggravated by continuing to play.

“I had a cast on it, a plaster-cast, so it went very well but too well.

“The bone got bigger and so, when I came back again, I played those two games against Watford and Newcastle, I could feel something again.”

The Manchester United star underwent surgery in January and now cannot wait to return to action like a famished predator on the prowl.

“So I had to have an operation and now here I am. I don’t feel anything, and, hopefully, I’ll be back very soon.”

Hopefully the football season will resume as soon as possible so that this beleaguered star can prove to the Manchester United fans that he is indeed worth every penny that he’s paid, not to mention the angst and anxiety caused by him and his super agent manager in particular.
