[VIDEO] Paulo Dybala third Juventus player to have coronavirus

Paulo Dybala became the third Juventus player positive COVID-19, the player confirmed.

Incredibly, Dybala had just denied he was contracted with the virus few hours before.

But through Instagram account, he said that both he and his girlfriend have tested positive.

“Hi everyone, I just wanted to inform you that we have received the results for the Covid-19 test and both Oriana and I have tested positive,” wrote the Argentina international.

“Luckily we are in perfect conditions. Thanks for your messages.”

He is the third Juventus player to test positive for COVID-19 after Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi.

Dybala and his girlfriend Oriana Sabatini have been self-isolating in their home at Turin ever since Rugani became the first Serie A player to test positive on March 11.

The fact he too now has the illness only raises even further questions about why Juve allowed Gonzalo Higuain, Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira to leave the country – today joined by Douglas Costa – before the 14-day quarantine period had expired.

“Paulo Dybala has undergone medical tests that revealed a positive result for Coronavirus-COVID19,” read a Juventus statement.

“He has been in voluntary home isolation since Wednesday 11 March. He will continue to be monitored, following the usual regime. He is well and is asymptomatic.”
