Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs arrived in Vietnam on Sunday to take over the directing position for the youth academy by the Promotion Fund of Vietnamese Football Talents Football Club (PVF).
The contract signed by PVF and Giggs has been valid in two years, including the requirement for the Welsh to arrive in Vietnam twice a year to supervise the training activities of the young players.
With his world-class experience, Giggs is expected to help PVF to develop youth football in Vietnam.
In the opening ceremony of the youth academy on Monday, the former Manchester United player confidently announced that he would help Vietnam earn a ticket to 2030 World Cup finals.
“I see the potential in Vietnamese young players, and that is why I am here,” Giggs said, as quoted by Vietnamnet.
“I will bring all my experience to help those talents achieve their dreams of reaching 2030 World Cup finals.”
