Andre Villas-Boas believed that the transfer of Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande to Barcelona demonstrates the strength of the Chinese Super League.
The Shanghai SIPG coach told reporters: “Because Paulinho has come here and done ever so well, now he has a transfer to one of the biggest clubs in the world,” as quoted by AFP.
“I think it shows that the big clubs are also looking at our league. It’s a reflection of the players and the quality of work that is being done here.”
On Monday, Barcelona confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande for midfielder Paulinho.
According to reports, the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder will sign a four-year deal with the Spanish giants, with a release clause worth of €120million.
