Melbourne Victory midfielder James Troisi has reportedly been offered a contract to the club’s arch rivals Melbourne City.
According to reports from The Herald Sun, City expressed their interests in Troisi in March, however, nothing was formalized as the attacker was assumed to re-sign with Victory.
The 29-year-old, who is currently the free agent, is back in Melbourne after a post-Confederations Cup holiday in New York. There he posted photos with Tim Cahill, and it is understood City has tabled a marquee offer.
Troisi appeared to make a move to Israeli club Maccabi Haifa after he underwent a medical there last week and was even photographed holding a Maccabi scarf.
The Australia international has played at nine clubs in seven different countries in his 10-year career, and has made 32 appearances for the Socceroos.
