Iran central defender Roozbeh Cheshmi will miss the World Cup after a tendon strain in the team training.
Cheshmi, who plays in his club Esteghlal as a defensive midfielder, has been Carlos Queiroz’s first choice for center of the defense alongside Morteza Pouraliganji.
He showed a great performance against Morocco and helped Iran to win 1-0 in their first match at the World cup.
But he got injured today and IIFF announced he will be out at least for one month. It seems young defender Majid Hosseini will fill his place against Spain.
