Confirmed Deals

Chatmongkol Thongkiri – Age 22 – Central Midfielder (Muangthong)

One player who has already found a new club for this season is Chatmongkol Thongkiri. The powerful and energetic box-to-box midfielder has been snapped up by Port’s arch-rivals Muangthong United, as head coach Alexandre Gama is a big fan.

The Brazilian boss is hoping to make Chatmongkol a regular in his side this season, which means that Muangthong will likely push for a permanent deal at the end of the current season, should they be able to finance it.

Gama has compared Chatmongkol to the likes of Thitipan Puangchan and Phitiwat Sukjitthamakul, two similarly physical midfielders who became National Team regulars under his guidance at Chiangrai United.

Jaturapat Sattham – Age 21 – Left-Back (Samut Prakan City)

Jaturapat Sattham was one of the most sought-after talents in the most recent Thai League transfer window, as a number of top clubs tried to snap up his signature after Chainat’s relegation was confirmed. However, his decision to join Port, especially over the likes of youth-development-minded Buriram United, seemed like a very odd one.

Finding himself behind Kevin Deeromram, Martin Steuble, Jaturapat struggled to make the bench at Port while he could easily be starting on the pitch for most other T1 clubs. The arrival of Thitathorn Aksornsri seems to have pushed this precarious situation over the edge, as the left-back has opted to join Samut Prakan City on loan for the upcoming campaign.

Likely to be the Sea Fang’s first choice down the left-flank, the move seems like an excellent one for both club and player. Getting to develop under Masatada Ishii at Samut Prakan would be an excellent next step for young Jaturapat, while he serves as an attack-minded upgrade on their current options on the left.
