Suwon Samsung Bluewings have been busy at work to prepare for the 2020 season. The 2019 FA Cup winner has already announced four new signings, two re-contracts, and two departures.

The Blue Wings announced Canadian international, Doneil Jor-Dee Ashley Henry’s movement to the club even before the season ended. Manager Lee Lim-saeng who had been moaning for better center backs throughout the season saw a great start in reforming the squad.

There were a few other reinforcements such as Hwaseong FC youngster, Lee Yong-hyuk, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC defender, Myung Joon-jae and finally the Bosnian forward Sulejman Krpić from FK Željezničar Sarajevo.

Also, the four times K League champion has announced re-contract of its free-agent players such as Min Sang-gi and Lee Jong-sung.

On re-contract, the 28-year-old defender, Min shared that “It was an obvious decision to make. Suwon is always the place where I should be. It has been 13 years with the club and I am beginning to feel more responsibility for the team. As one of the senior players in the club, I wish to bring great results in 2020.”

However, not all players on free-agent were lucky to be awarded the ‘re-contract’.

Koo Ja-ryong, who had grown from Suwon’s academy set-up was not fortunate to receive a proper offer from the team. He will join the K League 1 champion side, Jeonbuk for the upcoming season. Also, K League legend, Dejan Damjanović will depart from Suwon to join Daegu FC.

In meantime, Manager Lee’s boys will head to Abu Dhabi, UAE on 7th January to begin their preparation for the 2020 K League season.
