The 2019 K League 1 MVP (Most Valuable Player), Kim Bo-kyung has returned to the champion side, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC in three years.

The Korean international has netted 13 goals and created nine assists for Ulsan Hyundai FC last season. Being an instrumental player behind Ulsan’s K League title contest, Kim was awarded the league MVP.

Kim made his first appearance at the K League with Jeonbuk in 2016. He now returns to the seven times league champion after stints with Kashiwa Reysol and Ulsan.

On his return, Jeonbuk explained that “Kim Bo-kyung played a huge role for Jeonbuk to win the ACL (Asian Champions League) in 2016. It is indispensable for us to be equipped with the best midfielders in Asia to revive the glory of the championship. Kim is the best player to achieve our goal. He is the ‘master of the pass’ and his perfect passes would allow other attacking options such as Lee Seung-gi and Ricardo Lopes Pereira to attack freely.”

The returnee shared that “I am happy to be back at Jeonbuk. I can never forget the fans’ huge supports and passion. I would like to repeat the glory of claiming the throne of Asia with the fans.”

The 30-year-old midfielder made his professional debut at Cerezo Osaka. He had also plied his trade at Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic F.C.
