Thailand have announced the squad of 23 players which will take to the field on home soil to compete in the AFC U23 Championships next month.
This will be Akira Nishino’s second tournament with the young War Elephants, after failing to guide them beyond the group stage of the 2019 SEA Games.
The stakes will be even higher this time out, with qualification spots for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics up for grabs, if the side can stun the rest of Asia and reach the semi-finals.
Here is the squad which will hope to cause an upset and lead Thailand to the Olympic Games:
Goalkeepers: Korraphat Nareechan (Chiangmai FC), Kiattisak Chaodon (Udon Thani FC), Suphawat Yokakul (Samut Prakan City FC)
Defenders: Chatchai Saengdao (Muangthong United), Shinnaphat Lee-Oh (Chiangrai United), Thitatorn Aksornsri (Police Tero FC), Thitavee Aksornsri (Police Tero FC), Meechok Mahasaranukun (Suphanburi FC), Peerawat Akkratam (Prachuap FC), Saringkan Promsupha (Muangthong United), Kritsada Kaman (Chonburi FC).
