Liverpool in Talks to Sign Japanese Star Takumi Minamino

Liverpool are reportedly in talks to sign RB Salzburg’s Japanese star Takumi Minamino.

The attacking midfielder has a £7.25m release clause in his contract, which the Premier League leaders are ready to trigger in the upcoming January transfer window.

Sky Sports have reported that the Reds are already in advanced talks with the Austrian Champions to secure the player, as confirmed by RB Salzburg’s sporting director Christophe Freund.

Minamino caught the eye of Liverpool supporters as he registered both a goal and an assist at Anfield earlier this season, as his RB Salzburg side lost 4-3 in their Champions League clash.

It seems that the club’s staff were equally as impressed, and have moved to secure what could be an incredible bargain deal for a player of his quality.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has made 22 appearances for Japan and is working to establish himself as a regular in Hajime Moriyasu’s squad. A move to one of the top sides in Europe will be a massive boost for his career and for the Samurai Blues’ squad.
