Ho Chi Minh City have a chance to cut down the deficit with Hanoi FC at the top of the table at the round 22 of V.League this weekend. The defending champions will not play this weekend due to the time needed to travel to Turkmenistan to play in the AFC Cup.

At the moment, Ho Chi Minh City have 38 points, leaving them five points behind Hanoi FC. This weekend, they will travel to Nghe An province to face Song Lam Nghe An. With the good form of striker Victor Mansaray, Chung Hae Song’s side will be looking for a win despite missing the key midfielder Van Thuan due to suspension.

In the relegation zone, Hoang Anh Gia Lai will have a “must-win” match when they host Danang at home. If they can’t receive full points from this match, they may be dropped to the bottom place if Khanh Hoa collects full points from the trip to Quang Nam. However, a win for HAGL at the moment is not the simple task as they have not the service of two foreigners due to injury and internal suspension
