Ho Chi Minh City’s loss to Quang Nam helped Hanoi extend their lead to five points at the top of the table.

During matchday 20 of V League, Ho Chi Minh City lost again in their match at Quang Nam by a surprising 0-2 scoreline. Hoang Vu Samson scored two goals for the hosts in the match, as Ho Chi Minh City could not cause any problem for the host’s defense, despite being given a major advantage just 15 minutes in when a Quang Nam defender was shown the red card.

Samson’s brace helped his parent club Hanoi FC, who took advantage of Ho Chi Minh City ‘s slip to extend the lead. They dominated the match against Thanh Hoa and achieved an impressive 5-0 win.

Goals from Van Quyet (x2), Omar Faye (x2) and Papa Kebe help the capital club extend their tally to 40 points after 20 matches, five points above Ho Chi Minh City with six rounds to go.

At the bottom of the table, Sanna Khanh Hoa earned another win with a 1-0 scoreline over SHB Danang. The bottom team now have 20 pts, just seven behind the team sitting fourth in the league, Nam Dinh. This incredibly tight state of affairs has made the relegation battle almost impossible to predict.
