Vietnam U-19 held South Korea to a 1-1 draw at Suwon JS Cup

Vietnam U-19 ended 2018 Suwon JS Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw with South Korea U-19 at Suwon World Cup Stadium on Sunday.

Vietnam opened their tournament with a 4-0 loss to title favorite Mexico and drew 1-1 with Morocco. At the end of the friendly tournament, the Young Golden Stars finished last with two draws and one loss.

In the Sunday game, South Korea broke the deadlock when Ko Jun-hee unleashed a left-footed strike in the 13th minute.

Vietnam leveled the score in the 36th after Nham Manh Dung’s close-range effort found the net following a header by Dang Van Toi.

Hoang Anh Tuan’s side nearly added to the scoreboard in the 75th minute, when Manh Dung’s left-footed strike hit the post.

The game ended with a 1-1 draw when neither scored the winner.

Mexico won the tournament with two wins and one loss, while Morocco and South Korea came second and third in the competition
