Fernando Torres’s agent revealed that the Atletico Madrid striker could make a move to Chinese Super League.
Earlier this week, Torres confirmed he would leave his boyhood club Atletico Madrid when his contract expires at the end of the season.
According to Marca, agent Antonio Sanz suggested he should choose to further his career in either the USA or China, even though the 34-year-old Spaniard once insisted that he would ply his trade in Europe.
Sanz is director of communication at Bahia Internacional, the agency to which Torres is signed.
“There is no team yet. But we do have ideas. One option is what you said (the United States) and another (China),” Sanz told Marca.
Torress has scored seven goals in 34 appearances this season, with most of them coming off the bench. He has been left out of the coach Diego Simeone’s squad following the arrival of Diego Costa in January.
Last December, Chinese Super League newly-promoted Beijing Renhe dismissed the reports they wanted to sign Torres from Atletico Madrid.
They were rumored to make a €8million offer for the Spain international, however, their deputy general manager Zhang Yue has denied those claims.
