Beijing Renhe deny making offer for Fernando Torres

Beijing Renhe have dismissed the reports they want to sign Fernando Torres from Atletico Madrid, as reported by Daily Mail.

The newly-promoted side of Chinese Super League were rumored to make a €8million offer for the Spain international, however, their deputy general manager Zhang Yue has denied those claims.

“With regard to the rumor of buying Torres, an agent did recommend him to us,” Yue told Chinese newspaper Soccer News.

“However, after careful deliberation, we did not put him in our transfer list.

“Beijing Renhe will stick to our usual path of pragmatism. We won’t blindly pursue the big names,” he stated.

Renhe, who led by former Getafe and Levante head coach Luis Garcia, have been promoted to top-flight Chinese Super League next season.
