Ex-Madridista Garcia Hernandez joins South Korean national team

KFA adds former Real Madrid assistant coach Francisco Garcia Hernandez to the South Korean national team. The contract is until the upcoming World Cup in Russia.

Garcia Hernandez played 84 games and scored 27 goals for Real Madrid as a midfielder from 1978 to 1983. After he retired, the ex-Madridista managed Madrid’s youth and reverse teams as well as CD Castellón.

Indeed, South Korea hired Jose Antonio Grande and Javier Minano, who were also former Madridistas, last November.

Korea’s head coach Shin Tae-yong expressed his happiness, saying “the use of headsets will be allowed during the Russia World Cup, indicating proper analysis will be even more crucial. Experienced coaches will be of great help.”

Garcia Hernandez will join the team in Dublin, Ireland on 19th before international friendlies against Northern Ireland and Poland.
