South Korean striker Kang Soo-il set to join Ratchaburi

Ratchaburi announced the completed transfer of Korean striker Kang Soo-il from J2-League side Thespakusatsu Gunma in Japanese J2, according to reports from Thailand.

Born to a Korean mother and an African-American father, Kang dropped university to start professional football career.

In 2007, Kang joined Incheon United, where he scored 6 goals in 47 appearances, with the aim of earning money to support his family after his mother suffered a back injury.

In 2011, the 30-year-old join Jeju United before being on loan to Pohang Steelers three years later.

Ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Myanmar in June 2015, Kang was tested positive for a banned steroid and charged a two-year ban.

As his ban ended, Kang moved to J2 League side Thespakusatsu Gunma.
