K League 1’s defending champion Jeonbuk Hyundai had their meet-and-greet session with fans ahead of the season. While the team expressed to win the AFC Champions League, head coach Choi Kang-hee’s outfit caught the attention.
Choi was wearing green-coloured hanbok, Korea’s traditional outfit, and muffler with five stars to show the number of league trophies Jeonbuk has lifted up.
Indeed, this hanbok was specifically designed for Choi by a member of Jeonbuk supporters named “Green Family.” The group also came together to tailor to represent Jeonju’s culture. Jeonju, where Jeonbuk is based in, is known for maintaining history and tradition with Jeonju Hanok Heritage Village, an area of traditional houses.
Choi, who was wearing this meaningful outfit, said “we may not be perfect but have a lot of good players who have come on board. We will show the best performance every match. Our priority is to win ACL. As we had a good start in the previous two matches, we are hoping to win at least two competitions.”
