Former Manchester United midfielder Rodrigo Possebon has been released by V.League outfit Ho Chi Minh City FC, the club announced on Thursday.
Possebon joined Ho Chi Minh City in earlier January on an undisclosed transfer fee.
Moving to Vietnam, Possebon was hoped to revive his fading career since leaving United in 2010.
However, the 29-year-old struggled to live up to the expectations due to a back injury and a lack of fitness.
Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City’s board of directors decided to part with his services in just a few weeks. On the other hand, the club thanked the midfielder for his efforts on their official Facebook site.
