Indonesia U-23 have been starting their training camp since 18 February for the upcoming Asian Games 2018. The training camp will be finished on 25 February.
Some of Indonesia hottest football talents were called up by Luis Milla, including the 17-year-old prodigy, EgyMaulanaVikri. Egy is one of the most talented young footballers in Indonesia right now, and Milla as the head coach thinks that Egy is deserved to be called up to the camp.
However, Egy is currently unemployed. This makes he received so many spotlights during the camp, not because of his action during the training, but because of the speculation regarding his next club.
According to JawaPos, Egy’s stepfather, SubagjaSuihan, said that his son will announce his very first professional club right after the training camp.
“We will announce his (Egy) new club soon. Regarding which club, we can’t announce it right now and we will tell you guys later after the training camp.”
Egy stole the spotlight after he showed his mesmerizing skill during the Toulon Tournament 2017 and AFF U-18 Youth Championship 2017 with Indonesia U-19. In Toulon Tournament, he was crowned as the Breakthrough Player of The Tournament.
With those performances, Egy’s signature was sought by many clubs, including European decent clubs. Recently, he took part in a trial with Saint Ettiene, one of the big clubs in Ligue 1 France, and impressed their coaching staffs.Another big club, SC Benfica, was re-following his progress too. Regardless of Egy’s decision about his next club, Indonesian supporters will surely hope that he can continue his progress and make his country proud.
