FIFA president Gianni Infantino will arrive in Vietnam on Thursday on a one-day visit.
Infantino will meet the leaders of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and attend another meeting with the government officials of Vietnam.
Infantino’s visit is significant for Vietnamese football as he is the highest FIFA officials to ever visit the country, and it is expected to help boost the development of football in Vietnam.
Ahead of the visit, he congratulated Vietnam on the efforts it has taken for the development of football.
Last November, Vietnam welcomed the visit of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa.
He praised Vietnam’s commitment to participation and, in particular, the organization of many AFC competitions.
