Evan Dimas aims for higher achievement after good start with Selangor FA

Two of Indonesia young stars, Evan Dimas Darmono and Ilham Udin Armyn, recorded an impressive debut with their new club, Selangor FA.

Both of them contributed to Selangor’s victory against Kuala Lumpur FA. The match against Kuala Lumpur FA, known as Klang Valley Derby, is one of the hottest derbies in Malaysia football. However, both Evan and Ilham can handle the heat and helped their team to the 3 points.

For Evan specifically, he played 90 minutes full in his first game for Selangor. It’s a prove that, although he is a new player, he is already trusted by coachManiamPachaiappan to be the leader of Selangor offense.

In one moment, after the match, our team have the opportunity to interview Evan. The ex-Indonesia U-19 captain told us everything regarding his debut and the difference between Indonesia and Malaysia football.

“I was very happy to have the opportunity to play in our first match in this season, and contributed to our victory. I hope that I can always help Selangor to get the win.”

“But since this was only our very first match, we need to keep our heads down and focus on the upcoming matches. We need to be at our best and by doing that, I hope we can lift the silverware at the end of the season.”

Evan admitted that he faced some struggles during his first time with Selangor, especially since this is his first time playing abroad.
“I have some difficulties in Malaysia since this is my first time playing outside Indonesia. In here I need to work harder.”

“Honestly I didn’t know a thing about Klang Valley Derby, but for sure I have ever heard about it. The match surely heated, but we can keep focused.” Evan’s promising debut will surely bring hope to his home country.
