Ki Sung-yueng breaks the English Premier League record for a Korean player.

South Korea’s captain started for Swansea City in the Premier League against Leicester City in their away game on 3rd February 2018. While Jamie Vardy from the home side scored an opener, Swansea managed to score an equaliser as Federico Fernandez earned them a point from Ki’s corner against Leicester City. It was Ki’s first assist in the league this season. With this, Swansea managed to extend their unbeaten record to seven matches.

Not only did the 29-year-old record an assist, he managed to break ex-Manchester United star Park Ji-sung’s previous record for EPL appearances made by a Korean player, as this was Ki’s 155th match in England.

Ki joined Swansea in 2012; for the past five years, he scored three goals in 27 matches at Sunderland where he played for on a loan, and ten goals in 128 matches at Swansea.
