Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng will miss the start of the English Premier League campaign due to a knee injury.
The South Korea captain, who joined the Swansea in 2012, picked up the problem while on international duty in the World Cup qualifier against Qatar.
Swansea medical staff visited the 28-year-old in Asia and will allow him to recover there before he comes back to Wales after his team returning from pre-season trip to America.
A statement released by the club revealed that no timetable has been set yet for Ki to return to action, but the injury is not expected to keep him out long-term.
The former FC Seoul, Celtic and Sunderland player has just 12 months remaining on his current deal at the Liberty Stadium.
