Ramon Marcote returns as Kedah FA head coach

Former Kedah football assistant coach Ramon Marcote has returned as the club head coach for the next season,

Kedah president Dato Seri Ahmad Bashah Hanipah announced the signing of Marcote in a contract-signing ceremony held in Alor Star on Tuesday morning.

According to Hanipah, the club’s board of executives believed in Marcote’s experience and ability to lead the Red Eagles in the 2018 season.

“He is an experienced coach who was in the coaching staffs of a leading European club like Atletico Madid in 2002,” he said in the conference, as quoted by Sinar Online.

Marcote made his name as the fitness coach at top Spanish club Atletico Madrid and became Kedah’s assistant to now Malaysia head coach Tan Cheng Hoe in 2015.

In this first year in Malaysia, he guided Kedah to the Malaysia Cup final when Cheng Hoe had to attend a coaching course overseas.
