Paolo Cannavaro plans to reunite with brother Fabio in China

Italian centre-back Paolo Cannavaro could retire from football in January to join his older brother Fabio at Guangzhou Evergrande, their father revealed.

“It was a choice he evaluated well,” Pasquale Cannavaro said on Radio Marte, as reported by Canale Sassuolo on Wednesday.

“Paolo is 37 years old. At this age, he can play a little. But he has to make a choice about what he would do after retiring from playing football. So he chose very well in starting immediately alongside Fabio. We will see how this adventure will go.”

If Paolo decides to move to China, it seems that the Cannavaro brothers will have a chance to reunite after 16 years since their last adventure together in the outfit of Parma.

Fabio Cannavaro has returned for a second spell as Guangzhou Evergrande coach, succeeding Luiz Felipe Scolari.
