The friendly tournament, which features Japan and North Korea, has been considered as part of preparations for captain Chenrop Samphaodi and his side at the AFC U23 Championship 2018 finals in January 2018.
Talking about the possibility of encountering arch-rivals Vietnam U-23 in the semi-final of the M-150 Cup, Chenrop said: “Both teams know each other very well, but every game is always expected to be dramatic. Thailand do not want to lose and so do Vietnam,” he told VTC reporters in an interview on Thursday.
On the other hand, the BEC Tero Sasana midfielder stated that Thai League would be a difficult challenge for Vietnamese players.
“I think it would be a real challenge for the player. Actually, they still have a chance, but the competition in the Thai League is so harsh that even local players have to work hard to be included in the first squad,” he insisted.
The Thai U-23 team will kick off their campaign with a match against Japan on 9 November.
