Jurgen Klinsmann interested in Australia national team head coach role – Reports

German legend Jurgen Klinsmann is reportedly interested in becoming head coach of the Australia national team at next year’s World Cup.

According to SBS, Klinsmann has called on one of his closest friends to scout his chances of taking over as Australia coaching position.

Meanwhile, the 53-year-old made an inquiry to Football Federation Australia (FFA) about the role after former coach Ange Postecoglou stepped down.

However, it is reported that salary could be a sticking point for Klinsmann to land the Australia job.

FFA has reportedly put aside about $1.5 million per annum for a Socceroos boss while Klinsmann was earning about $3.3 million annual base salary during his five-year stint as boss of the US.
