Persib Bandung have officially appointed former Johor Darul Ta’zim head coach Mario Gomez for the Indonesian Liga 1 next season.
The Argentinian tactician becomes Maung Bandung’s third head coach who was appointed this year, replacing Emral Abus who succeeded Indonesian domestic title winner Djajang Nurdjaman.
Gomez led JDT to the second Malaysia Super League triumph in his first season in charge, as well as AFC Cup title both in 2015.
He successfully helped the team to win another MSL trophy in the following year with an undefeated record throughout the whole league campaign, but left after JDT failed to retain the AFC Cup title.
The 60-year-old was in line to take over Malaysia national team head coach in this year but differences on the contract meant that the appointment fell down.
