Vietnam announce 23-man squad for AFC Asian Cup qualifier

Vietnam national coach Park Hang Seo announced the 23-man squad for the Asian Cup qualifier against Afghanistan on 14 November.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai is the club to contribute the most players to the national squad this time, with 4 players including starlet striker Nguyen Cong Phuong.

On the other hand, Park gave a chance to goalkeeper Pham Van Cuong, who has shown his strong performance at V-League title favorites Quang Nam.

Vietnam gathered today in Hanoi and will have a week of training to prepare for the match, which will be held at My Dinh Stadium.

Goalkeeper:  Bùi Tiến Dũng (FLC Thanh Hóa), Nguyễn Tuấn Mạnh (S. Khánh Hòa), Phạm Văn Cường (Quảng Nam).

Defender: Vũ Xuân Cường (FLC Thanh Hóa), Vũ Ngọc Thịnh (Hải Phòng), Trần Đình Trọng (Sài Gòn), Đoàn Văn Hậu (Hà Nội),  Âu Văn Hoàn (TP.HCM), Vũ Văn Thanh (HAGL), Bùi Tiến Dũng (Viettel).

Midfielder: Nguyễn Văn Toàn, Trần Minh Vương (HAGL), Đinh Thanh Trung, Nguyễn Huy Hùng (Quảng Nam), Đỗ Duy Mạnh (Hà Nội), Lương Xuân Trường (Gangwon, Hàn Quốc), Nguyễn Quang Hải (Hà Nội), Đỗ Văn Thuận (Sài Gòn), Vũ Minh Tuấn (Than Quảng Ninh).
