Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) midfielder Safiq Rahim targets Malaysia Cup title ahead of the final clash against Kedah at the Shah Alam Stadium tonight.
The veteran has earned numerous trophies during his career, including 5 Malaysia Super League, an FA Cup and the AFC Cup on 2015 with JDT.
However, Malaysia Cup continues to elude the national skipper, who suffered heartbreak twice with Selangor and JDT in 2008 and 2014 finals.
“This is my third Malaysia Cup final and I really hope to be third time lucky,” Safiq said at the pre-match press conference yesterday, as quoted by The Star.
“JDT also have yet to win the Malaysia Cup, so it will be perfect to win it this time. Like others, we also want to win as many trophies as possible but then again Kedah are a good side and I believe they will give us a good fight.”
