Consadole Sapporo striker Jay Bothroyd collapses on training pitch

Jay Bothroyd collapsed and suffered a blackout while training with his J.League 1 side Consadole Sapporo on Saturday.

As reported by Siam Sport, Bothroyd suffered convulsions thirty minutes into the training session.

Fortunately, his condition is getting better after receiving intensive treatment on the training pitch. The Englishman was rushed to the hospital 10 minutes later.

On Twitter, in response to the rumors that he suffered heart problem, the English striker wrote: “Thanks to everyone wishing me well but it was just a blackout. Nothing serious.”

Bothroyd joined Consadole from Jubilo Iwata in July and has played an important role in the Japanese side’s campaign against relegation this season.
