Cambodia FA slapped with $5,000 fine

Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) was hit with a penalty from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for failing to ensure the organization during last month’s AFC Cup qualifier between Cambodia and Vietnam at Phnom Penh’s National Olympic Stadium.

Following the latest AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee meeting on 27 October, FFC was dished out a $5,000 fine citing the inability of the Federation to “take every safety precaution” and “ensure that law and order is maintained in the stadium”.

AFC reported that visiting team spectators were setting off fireworks on two occasions at approximately the 4th minute of the match and after the final whistle.

On the other hand, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) was fined $15,000 for this misconduct.
