Vietnam were drawn into Group D of strong contenders Korea and Australia in 2018 AFC U23 Championship, which will take place in China next January.
The Young Golden Stars will also meet Syria in the group stage after opening their campaign with battles against Korea and Australia.
The ceremony, which was held in Changzhou, separated the 16 qualified teams into four groups for next year’s Asian youth competition.
Meanwhile, debutants Malaysia drew a strong group containing Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Thailand will have to face 2016 champions Japan, as well as DPR Korea and first-time qualifiers Palestine in Group B.
