HAGL manager Nguyen Quoc Tuan resigns

Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) head coach Nguyen Quoc Tuan decided to step down from his post after his side had suffered from a 2-0 home defeat to Song Lam Nghe An on Saturday.

“Two years working for HAGL is a very meaningful period of time for me. I have worked hard to build a better team with the support from the executives and colleagues,” Tuan said in the post-match press conference, as quoted by VTV.

“However, the team have not achieved the desired results in the past four games, and I am taking responsibility for these failures. I decided to step down from the coaching position. I wish the team will get better results in the next matches,” he added.

Following the resignation of Tuan, the board of HAGL appointed Duong Minh Ninh, who is working at the HAGL JMG Academy, as the team’s caretaker.
