Coach Jason Brown: Vietnamese goalkeepers have quality to play in Europe

After some training sessions, goalkeeping coach Jason Brown had quite positive comments about the Vietnam national team gatekeepers.

“I believe these goalkeepers can play in Europe. But they should conduct more training to improve their potentials,” Brown said, as quoted by Lao Dong Newspaper.

The Welsh also pointed out that the mentality, which is more difficult to be adjusted than technique, is the biggest weakness of Vietnamese goalkeepers.

“When the goalkeeper has a strong mentality, it is easier for him to develop his career. So the responsibility of the coach is to boost the goalkeeper’s confidence, if successful, the goalkeepers will make the right decision on the pitch,” he added.

Brown has been expected to help improve performances of three goalies Tuan Manh, Tuan Linh and Tien Dung ahead of the 2019 Asian Cup qualifier against Cambodia on 10 October in Hanoi.
