Andre Villas-Boas disappointed as Shanghai SIPG being held by Urawa

Shanghai SIPG boss Andre Villas-Boas has expressed his disappointment after his side only managed a 1-1 home draw in the first leg of the AFC Champions League semi-final against Urawa Red Diamonds.

Although Hulk scored a spectacular long-range strike in the 15th minute, Shanghai SIPG failed to secure a victory after Yosuke Kashiwagi leveled the scores for the Japanese side 12 minutes later.

“I’m so sorry to disappoint you,” an irritated Villas-Boas said in the post-match press conference, as quoted by AFP.

“We had 21 shots and the game could have been completely different.

“We are a little bit disappointed, of course, but the second leg is completely open and we will have everyone back for selection for the second leg, which is very good.”
