Kiatisuk won’t be able to finish license courses before deadline for head coach appointment – VFF official

Kiatisuk “Zico” Senumuang met top officials from Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) conference in Indonesia on Saturday.

During the meeting, Kiatisuk reportedly expressed his desire to finish the AFC Pro-Diploma Coaching at the end of this month before finding a new job, according to Vietnam news site Zing.vn.

Meanwhile, VFF Secretary-General Le Hoai Anh said that the list of candidates has not been finalized. The football governing body of Vietnam will continue to receive applications until this October.

However, the candidates must have UEFA Pro license or AFC Pro-Diploma Coaching, based on the standards that VFF provides.

“Kiatisuk is preparing for the final course of the AFC Pro-Diploma Coaching, which will take place in this November. Thus, it is unlikely he will be able to apply for the coaching position of Vietnam national team”, said Le.

After quitting his role at Port FC on Wednesday, the former Thailand international has been linked with the vacant position of Vietnam head coach.

He has played with V-League’s side Hoang Anh Gia Lai for four years at the end of his playing career, before having two spells as their head coach.
