Former Thailand national team head coach Winfried Schafer applies for Vietnam coaching role

Former Thailand national team head coach Winfried Schafer has offered to take charge the coaching position.

However, the German has demanded an after-tax salary of USD 40,000 per month, which is triple more than the earning of former Vietnamese coach Toshiya Miura.

According to reports from VnExpress.vn, Vietnam Football Federation said that they would like to find a qualified foreign coach for the Golden Stars.

However, according to sources, the salary must be within capacity, thus the number Schafer demanded is considered unreasonable.

Recently, VFF expresses its desire to hire a foreign to replace Nguyen Huu Thang, who had stepped down at last month’s SEA Games, as the new head coach for national team.
