Coach Hoang Anh Tuan eyes AFF U-18 Youth Championship final

Vietnam U-18 head coach Hoang Anh Tuan said he has set a target of reaching the final of the AFF-U18 Youth Championship for his team.

The Vietnam U-18 team have arrived in Myanmar on Saturday, and have started to train ahead of the first match at the tournament, scheduled to play on September 7th.

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan, widely respected by Vietnamese supporters for guiding the nation’s U-20 team to their first FIFA World Cup tournament ever, said he didn’t think trophies are important for his youthful players. However, he decided to set a target for the whole team as a way to evaluate their strength.

“I don’t think trophies are important for players at such a young age, but since we’re here we have to set a challenge for ourselves”, the 49-year-old manager told reporters.
