Indonesia U-22 head coach Luis Milla has been very proud of the appearance shown by his squad when facing the Vietnam in the fourth-round match of Group B in SEA Games.
“The match ended in a goalless draw, but in my opinion, Indonesia have won on the spiritual aspect. The draw result boosts our spirits to win the next game,” he said to reporters at the post-match press conference, as quoted by VnExpress.
“Our players did a fantastic job of getting a good result ahead of Vietnam. The playing style and spirit of the players make me very proud.”
Indonesia are currently standing the third of standings in Group B with eight points. Meanwhile, Vietnam are still at the top of the standings with 10 points, tied by Thailand in second place with the same points but worse goal difference.
Indonesia remain in third on eight points while Vietnam and Thailand are currently tied at the top with 10 points.
However, the Young Garudas, who will face against minnows Cambodia, are likely to benefit from Vietnam and Thailand battle on Thursday
