Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) has announced the departure of striker Brian Ferreira to the Ecuadorian Primera Categoría Serie A side Fuerza Amarilla FC.
“Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) have created history once again after selling Brian Ferreira, 23, to Fuerza Amarilla SC, a club playing in the Ecuadorian Premier League,” a statement released by JDT read.
“It shows that overseas clubs are aware of and follow JDT’s development. JDT have created history by selling not only one player but two players, Martin Lucero and Brian Ferreira, to overseas clubs.”
Despite being a product of prestigious Velez Sarsfield academy, Ferrera failed to stamp his mark in Argentina. The Argentine-Iraqi then moved his footballing career to Asia in 2017, with his first destination is Malaysia’s football powerhouse JDT.
However, the 23-year-old has not performed up to the club’s expectations, which led to Ferreira being benched for the last few months. He scored just 2 goals in 4 appearances for The Southern Tigers.
