On Saturday, Vietnamese midfielder Luong Xuan Truong made his Gangwon FC debut in the K League against Daegu.
After marking the history as the first Vietnamese footballer to play in Korea’s top-tier football league, Truong expressed his happiness to get the trust of the club.
“It took me a long time to get a chance to play in the K-League Classic. So, if I did not play well today, I will not have any chance to play again,” Truong told the media after the match, as quoted by Zing.vn.
The 22-year-old midfielder also shared his gratitude to his team-mates in Gangwon: “Thank you for helping me. I promise to try my best to make a good performance if I can get the opportunity to play.”
The 2-1 win over Daegu helps Gangwon to climb to the third place in the K League table. They will play against Sangju Sangmun on Sunday.
