Gangwon FC coach: Luong Xuan Truong needs more time to adapt to Korean football

Gangwon FC coach believes that Luong Xuan Truong has not been capable of adapting to South Korean football.

Head coach Choi Yoon-kyum has a memorable return to Vietnam as Gangwon FC will play a friendly match with a joined team of Ho Chi Minh City FC and Sai Gon FC in Ho Chi Minh City on June 9.

Despite playing at home country, Vietnamese midfielder Luong Xuan Truong will make an appearance for Gangwon team.

In an interview with Thanh Nien newspaper, coach Choi expressed his honest comments about Truong, especially his incapable of adapting to South Korean football environment.

“I have observed Truong since he was younger and know that he will definitely a good player,” he said.

“Despite spending 2 years playing football in Korea, he has not adapted to the specific styles of Korean football. Truong is not strong enough. He is lacking the speed to catch up with the match,” the 55-year-old added.

However, Choi still appreciates Truong’s diligence and promises to give the Vietnamese midfielder more opportunity to play by the end of the season.
