U-22 Malaysia coach announces squad for U-23 Asia qualifiers

U-22 Malaysia head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee has officially announced the squad for the upcoming AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers in July.

In the 26-man squad, two players from the recent tour of China, including Selangor’s K. Kannan and Negeri Sembilan’s Sean Eugene, have been dropped. Meanwhile, four other players named Ahmad Khairil Anuar, Matthew Davies, Nor Azam Azih and Arif Fadzillah have been called up by Ong.

The U-22 Malaysia national team will gather in the centralized training camp that starts on 5 July. Before competing in the AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers in Bangkok, The Young Tigers are scheduled to play a final friendly match against U-22 Malaysia at Shah Alam Stadium on 13 July.

On 1 August, the squad will be reassembled to prepare for the 2017 SEA Games in the middle of August, in which Malaysia are the hosts.
