Thailand FA president: Chanathip can inspire Thai players to play in bigger leagues

Before leaving for Japan, Thailand playmaker Chanathip Songkrasin visited Football Association of Thailand (FAT) president Somyot Poompunmuang at the associations’ headquarters on Thursday.

At this meeting, Somyot wished Chanathip a successful career in J-League, which is widely considred as one of the most prestigious leagues in Asian club football.

“I believe it will be a great experience for him because J-League has many good players. The most important thing for him to learn will be the attitude and commitment of the Japanese players,” the president said, as quoted by Bangkok Post.

“I hope he will stay fit and become a good role model for the young Thai players. His presence in the J-League can inspire other talented Thai players to seek stardom in bigger leagues.”
