According to reports from Thailand, former 2013 CAN runner-up Burkina Faso and DPR Korea have accepted the invitation from Football Association of Thailand (FAT) to play in The King’s Cup tournament, which will be held in Thailand this summer.
Previously, it was revealed that FAT had invited France, Uruguay and Czech Republic to play this year’s King’s Cup. However, all 3 teams have rejected this invitation.
Being scheduled to take place from 14 to 16 July, King’s Cup will be the War Elephants’ next challenge before the final two 2018 World Cup third-round qualifying matches in August and September.
Although the annual tournament may not be prestigious, it offers an important opportunity for Thai players to play together as bigger challenges await later this year.
